Interview #39 | The Mind Detective: Exploring Forensic Psychology with Dr Keri Nixon

I welcome Dr Keri Nixon to the show in this interview episode to discuss her career as a consultant forensic psychologist.

 

Dr Nixon is chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS), registered as a forensic psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and an associate fellow of the BPS. She has almost 20 years of experience in psychological services, policing and treatment.

 

Following her extensive work in policing, academia and prisons, Dr Nixon moved to a private hospital as a consultant forensic psychologist and senior manager, where she was quickly promoted to clinical lead of the Male Mental Illness and Personality Disorder Service.

 

She quickly gained a reputation for her ability to engage with and treat complex, challenging and often dangerous patients.

 

Dr Nixon is now passionate about applying all her experience in risk assessment, treatment, policing, training and engagement to her consultancy work. She is the sole director of Nixon Consultants Ltd.
